The city of East Point’s bi-annual bulk waste pick-up amnesty is this week. Items such as sofas, chairs, tables, desks, mattresses, refrigerators, washers, dryers, hot water heaters, stoves and lawnmowers may be discarded during this time. Fridges must have freon removed while lawnmowers can not have any gasoline or oil in the engine.

Neighbors can place items at the curb or roadside on the regular garbage day by 7:30 a.m. Certain items, including propane tanks, tree trimmings, construction debris and paint are not eligible for pickup. See the full list here.
